Misc April

Nate got and lost his very own Rollerblades.  When they arrived, he was so excited.  Practically slept in them.  Wore them throughout the house, at dinner and first thing when he woke up in the morning while still in PJ's.  He loved having them at Skate night.  Things were going great, until I saw a big scratch on the Pathfinder.  Nate admitted to finding a nail on the ground and using it to "draw" on the car.  We were not happy about it, especially since this happened less than a month after he scratched the neighbors car.  We boxed up the Rollerblades and mailed them back as punishment.  Although we are thinking about getting him another pair for graduating Kindergarten,

Enjoying a nice bottle of wine on our patio.  Notice anything different?  We took down the fence.  It's been great, the yard feels bigger and looks so much better.  The only real drawback is that whenever the dog is hot, she goes swimming and we're not ready to let the wet dog in the house.

Here's Nate's Easter present.  Second time we've gotten him a bike for Easter.  Without another holiday, we're sort of making up a reason to get him a bike as he was ready to go up to a 20" bike.  He loves it.

Every so often the school sends home a book that is full of his entire classes artwork on a particular subject.  For this project, the kids had to complete the sentence "If I were a present, I would be a ____ for ___" and draw a picture of it.  Nate said he would be a Lego Star Wars for his uncle Nene.  He loves when Nene takes the time to sit with him and build lego's together.

Every kid gets a turn or two at catcher.  Nate 's turn and he's all dressed up with no where to go.

Moving Day!  During spring break we took a few days to focus on getting G-pa moved out of his condo.  We're in the process of fixing it, selling it and moving him to Roseville so he can be closer to us.  Nate was certainly in the spirit of moving and happy to box himself up.

Easter

Nate dying Easter eggs.  Step one in making a kitchen messy.

Step two involved putting glue and glitter on the eggs.  So much glitter in fact, we still can't get rid of it.  two weeks later and we're still finding glitter in our food.  The eggs did look great though and Nate had a blast doing it.

Nate on Easter morning, getting ready to open his Easter basket.  So excited to finally get some Bey Blades.  He's been wanting them for a long time.

Nate and daddy all dressed up for Easter.

Doesn't he look like a reporter from the 1950's?

Of course this is a pose he prefers, showing off his slick dance moves.

So many eggs, for so many kids.

Nate racing to get eggs filled with candy.

Emily, Nate and Jimmy searching for eggs.

Nate with all the neighbor kids who came over.  Claudia didn't come out, she was too afraid she might see  the 6 foot Easter Bunny.

Most of the kids were excited to see the bunny, but for some it was scarier than any Halloween monster.

Has anyone seen my eggs?

Love the expression on his face here.

Picture People

Maria went to the Picture People at the mall to get some formal shots of Nate.  We wound up signing up for their club deal.  They've taken some really great photos.  It always surprises me how good some of these come out and this trip was no exception.  We had the last photo in this set blown up and hanging in our house.    I guess it helps that Nate loves to pose for the camera.  He really gets into posing and having the biggest smiles, sometimes too big, but it just works for him.

Skyzone

I first heard about Skyzone from Shawn Barker.  He said Trinity loved it and it was a fun time for parents.  I brought it up to Royce, Shayne and Chloe when they were visiting for New Year's and all the kids seemed to think they were too cool to go there.  I would have pushed harder, had I been there before as I think it's a great place to have a workout and fun time.

We took Nate to Skyzone, he wanted to go so bad, even though he had never been before.

It took us awhile to get our rhythm.  The first few times we jumped on the same trampoline, he fell pretty hard.  We needed to bounce together as my bounced pretty much threw him around the trampoline.

He could get quite a bit of height with my help.

fun to catch air, but not sure I have confidence in my ability to do flips and some of the other crazy things I've seen them do,

Hard to see just how much height you can get jumping.  It's exhilarating and quite a rush.  We went for an hour, Nate wanted more, but I was exhausted after 15 min.  It's quite a workout, more than I would have thought.

So easy to fall, but so much fun.

Trying to bounce from standing to sitting to standing.

T=Ball Strike 2

Nate all dressed in the Pirates uniform.  Here he is taking a swing at  the ball.
Running to first base after he pounded a hit almost to 2nd base.

Nate show his mad baseball skills by sliding/falling into first base.  Coaches working hard to get them to run through the base, but Nate doesn't listen well to those instructions.

Nate gets a little bored while playing, both fielding and while waiting for a fellow batter to drive him in.

He does get excited when someone finally hits the ball and he has something to do.

Rounding the bases and heading for home.  Perfect form for sliding into home and avoiding the tag, or not.

His formal T-ball shot.

Here's the entire team and the coaches.

These pictures were taken at Richard's field on opening day, which was also picture day, even though they had no game scheduled.

Lining up to head out for pictures.

Almost looks like a real baseball player here

After the formal photos, the kids got to go to the "big" field and run from third to home while getting their name called over the loudspeaker.

The slide into home.
