Cooking Lessons

Nate wanted to make cupcakes. He has been asking for awhile, but since we were on diets, we didn't indulge him. Chloe and the Cottle's were coming for the 4th of July and it was Chloe's birthday, so we thought it would be good time to let him cook.

Nate wanted to put the egg in, so I let him have first "crack" at it. He broke the yolk, but got it in without any shell pieces. Best part was he saw the egg int he bowl and said look it's Mickey Mouse!
My boy proud to have found mickey mouse hiding in an egg.

Here we are teaching Nate the best part of baking is licking the bowl/mixer. He put in all the ingredients and mixed it all up. Then helped me put the batter into the muffin pans.
The Chocolate mustache.
Once we had the cake cooked and cooled, it was time to apply the frosting. That part I did, but Nate took the lead at eating them. Funny thing was he just wanted to lick off the frosting on the top of the cake, then was ready to toss the cake out. I guess it's time to expand our little chef into some other activities.
