Today Mr MacCottle and Mr. MacGreen finally had their first chance to golf. They spent the day at Gullane. Meanwhile Lilia and I were suppose to go to a scotch-whiskey trail but decided after the long day we had yesterday to cancel it. So we slept in and met up around noon and headed for the to the Royal Mile and went shopping. The best thing to shop for is anything cashmere. Scarves, sweaters, gloves, etc. So soft! We both loved hanging out on the Royal Mile. So much to see and do. Edinburgh is very medieval and incredibly romantic. After some serious shopping, we decided to take a tour of the vaults underground. A series of rooms under the South Bridge in Edinburgh. These Vault rooms, used as storage space and workshops for the South Bridge businesses, operated as intended for a relatively short space of time. No one knows when they shut down but were rediscovered in 1988. Apparently it's haunted. Not sure if I believe but did find the place rather creepy. Unfortunately, my camera would not let me snap some photos for some reason. Hmmm.... After our tour we decide to hit yet another pub called Albanach. We hung out until our men finally show up. Then it was off to a tapas bar called Barioja. Had many dishes with an awesome bottle of tempranillo. I must say that of all the food we have tried so far, we have yet to be disappointed. Although, it turns out the haggis I had the night before is not the real deal. The real haggis is served with a shot whiskey that you pour on top of the haggis and then you eat it. Don't think I'm going to have a chance to try that. That might me a good thing.
