Dandelions!

Beautiful Emerald Bay
After the BBQ, our guide took us to see Emerald Lake. What a beautiful Lake. Almost want to jump in but our guide told us he did once and it was so cold that he just jumped right out. As we headed back to Skagway, we made a couple of pit stops. One was at yet another beautiful lake and another exciting stop was because there was a bear eating dandelions on the side of the road. We all stayed on the bus and took many photos of Mr. Bear. After a while, the bear decided to cross the road and as our guide asked "Why did the bear cross the road? Well, to eat more dandelions!"

Our guide had also mentioned an Alaskan beer that has spruce tip pine in it. Apparently it has vitamin C and has a citrus flavor to it. Once back in Skagway we immediately went to the Skagway Brewing Co. And yes we ordered the "Spruce Tip Blonde Ale"! According to the website it states:

Spruce Tip Blonde - Our signature ale, brewed with spruce tips is a favorite of tourists and locals alike. “This local favorite incorporates hand picked Sitka Spruce tree tips that add a crisp kick to its creamy, slightly sticky body and floral zest to the fruit and spice flavor.” Draft Magazine “50 Beers, 50 States” July 2009.

One of the best beers I have ever had!! Too bad it's not available anywhere else!

After our beer tasting we started heading back to the ship. Apparently there is a store where everything is dedicated to Sarah Palin. We found it but it was closed. Oh well. Lilia found a furkini I think she was thinking of getting!! Hmmm???

Once back on the ship, we finished off the night by having dinner at the steakhouse. Much better food then the regular restaurant and was so excited that Nate was willing to try escargots. He tasted the first one and then asked for a second!! Wow, love that Nate is so willing to try!

Lake on other side of Emerald Lake. Interesting the way the currents move.

Stop at a gift shop and saw this sign posted. I wonder if it's effective?
